Review Sauvignon Blanc 2008 Sautjan Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Made by Sautjan (S17) in Australia (region: King Valley) .

A dry, still, white wine with 12.5% alchohol tasted on 4th May 2009.

Grape: Sauvignon Blanc

Quality: Very Good

Value: Good

Cost: Usually between $16.00 - $16.00.

Looks: Clear and bright, with a light feel to it and slightly pale gold in colour

Smells:
Good fresh lychee and kiwi fruit

Feels: Light

Tastes:
You cannot knock this wine. Maybe it is because I have recently tasted some of the shocking sweet fruit and grass beasts from NZ that pretend to be wine and it is knocking my tastebuds in the other direction when I am tasting this, but this is the style that Sauvignon Blanc should be. Fresh and lively, but instead of green chloroform characters this is all about the fruit - lychee, kiwi fruit caging a centre palate and finish that is all about the passionfruit. Long length, good line and tasting of fresh fruit - now that is Sauvignon Blanc to me, and it is all too rarely any of those things. Great wine at a great price.
